Hailing from Brazil, Caixão emerged onto the music scene in 2018, spearheaded by Italo Rodrigo, renowned for his thunderous drumming in Echoes of Death and Damn Youth. Transitioning to guitar, keys, and vocals in Caixão, Rodrigo showcases a remarkable versatility that breathes life into the band. The name “Caixão,” meaning “Coffin” in Portuguese, sets a darkly evocative tone, hinting at the band’s penchant for exploring deep, introspective themes.

Pinpointing Caixão’s musical genre proves challenging, as their sound defies easy categorization. Rooted in Proto Metal, their compositions weave in influences from 1970s Psychedelic and Progressive music, creating a dynamic sonic tapestry that is both hauntingly familiar and boldly innovative.
