This was released on April 23, 1976, by A&M Records.  It was the band's first new release with A&M Records, having signed with them in late 1975 to distribute the US pressings of Bandolier.  Musically, the album's usual hard rock style is augmented on this album with funk elements in two songs, and progressive rock in two others.  The title is a pun on the concept of Britannia ruling the waves.  The album was not as well-received as the band's previous albums, but it has since been re-evaluated by critics and fans.

If you're a fan of hard rock or progressive rock, I recommend checking out this album. It's a bit different from Budgie's earlier albums, but it's still a great listen.
