Greta Van Fleet's second studio album, The Battle at Garden's Gate, was released on April 16, 2021. The album explores themes of self-empowerment, freedom, and the internal and external struggles we all face.
The album was preceded by three singles: "My Way, Soon", "Age of Machine", and "Heat Above". "My Way, Soon" topped the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart in January 2021.
The Battle at Garden's Gate received generally positive reviews from critics. It was praised for its musicianship and its exploration of new sonic territory for the band, while some critics found its lyrical themes to be derivative. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
