Orthodox: Sevilla, Spain.
Orthodox is a trio from Seville, Spain playing experimental doom metal inspired by religious folklore and jazz. A music based on hypnotic repetitions of quasi-mystical
intensity and slow, torpid rhythms befitting people from a city of crushing summer heat. Musical influences from Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd or Melvins mixed with their peculiar perception of Southern Spain folklore and avantgarde.
After collecting excellent reviews of “Supreme” (2017) at main magazines such as WIRE, Invisible Oranges, The New Noise and Dusted Magazine and coming from the same recording sessions, “Krèas” is the convulse version of its brother album.
While “Supreme” stands as a static monolith nailing Orthodox’s vision of noise/doom/freejazz into a frozen concept, “Krèas” develops from the same concept giving more freedom for dialogue and interaction between the (this time) trio formed by Borja Díaz (drums), Marco Serrato (bass) and Aquilleas Polychronidis from Skullfuck on sax.
