Various – Illiterate

lliterate is a hardcore punk compilation album released in 1995 by Ebullition Records. The album features 12 songs by 12 different bands, all of whom were associated with the Ebullition Records label or the straight edge hardcore punk scene in general.

The album is a showcase of the diverse sounds of the straight edge hardcore punk scene in the early to mid-1990s. The songs range from the fast and furious hardcore of Soul Search Critique and Voorhees to the more melodic and introspective hardcore of Abolition and Ivich.

The album also features a number of bands who were relatively unknown at the time of its release, but who have since gone on to become well-respected and influential bands in the hardcore punk scene. These bands include Nothing Remains (2), Condense, and Hypocritical Society.
