Death Row Records is a record label founded in 1991 by Suge Knight and Dr. Dre. It was one of the most successful hip hop labels of the 1990s, and its roster included some of the biggest names in the genre, such as Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, and Nate Dogg.
The label was known for its gangsta rap sound and its association with violence and controversy. In 1996, Tupac Shakur was murdered in Las Vegas, and the label was subsequently investigated by the FBI for its alleged involvement in his death.
