Woodstock is most commonly associated with the Woodstock Music and Art Fair, a music festival held during August 15–18, 1969, on Max Yasgur's dairy farm in Bethel, New York.
The festival attracted an estimated 400,000 to 500,000 people and featured performances by some of the biggest names in music, including Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Who, and Santana.
