Intention Surpassed is the second studio album by English grindcore band Defecation, released on 13 January 2003 by Nuclear Blast Records. It is the only album to feature Mitch Harris as the sole member of the band, as he wrote and recorded all of the music and vocals himself.
The album was recorded at Harris' home studio in the United Kingdom in July 2002. It was produced, engineered, and mastered by Harris himself. The album's cover art was designed by Veronika Hollmannova.
Intention Surpassed received positive reviews from critics. AllMusic gave the album 4 out of 5 stars, calling it "a return to form for Defecation" and "one of the best grindcore albums of the year." Metal Hammer gave the album 8 out of 10 stars, praising Harris' "technical prowess" and "inventive songwriting."
