Van Halen II is the second studio album by American rock band Van Halen. It was released on March 23, 1979, by Warner Bros. Records. The album peaked at number six on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and yielded the hit singles "Dance the Night Away" and "Beautiful Girls". As of 2004, it has sold almost six million copies in the United States and is certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA.

The album was recorded in just three weeks, and features Eddie Van Halen's innovative and energetic guitar playing, David Lee Roth's flamboyant vocals, Alex Van Halen's powerful drumming, and Michael Anthony's solid bass lines. The album's music ranges from hard rock to boogie rock, with a strong emphasis on Eddie Van Halen's guitar work.

Van Halen II was a critical and commercial success, solidifying Van Halen's status as one of the leading hard rock bands of the late 1970s and early 1980s. The album's influence can be heard in the work of countless hard rock and heavy metal bands that followed.
