Belgium’s fuzz-fueled groove machine Beaten By Hippies is back — and no, they didn’t break up, vanish, or join a commune (well, not full-time). They just got a little… sidetracked. The result? A brand new album with some new twists: “Sidetracked in El Paso”, landing May 23, 2025 on Polder records.

It’s been a minute since their self titled debut in 2019, but they’ve returned with a sound that’s grown a beard, worn in the boots, and picked up a few stories along the way. Still riff-heavy, still groove-laden, but with a touch more grit and a whole lot more feeling. Call it desert rock with character.

This second album doesn’t hit you over the head — it invites you in, hands you a dusty beer, and plays you something that hits just right. It’s heavier in all the right ways, and looser where it counts.

“Sidetracked in El Paso” is Beaten By Hippies stepping off the main road, and finding something real in the dust and delay.
